“ There are three essentials to leadership: humility, clarity and courage”. - Fuchan Yuan
Copa-de-Oro, the name the Spanish gave for the luminescent yet hearty California Poppy. A flower whose characteristics are reminiscent women in leadership:
- growing and creating beauty in some of the harshest environments (deserts, coastal cliffs)
- adapting to whatever their local conditions and still maintaining their core structure
- beauty is such that they appear "fragile and delicate" yet are incredible "smart" and strong
- change the color of landscape of wherever they grow.
Research has shown that women, being their authentic selves, are necessary for a company's financial success and long term survival.
Let's face it, the world needs more women leading and changing the color of the business landscape.
I am passionate about your success as a leader. Particularly if you are a leader who chooses to lead differently than your industry, business, or department demands. You know you don’t look and act like “others”. You are different.
Many leaders I know, who happen to have been born a woman, struggle to be fully strategic and compassionate (relational). They are challenged at every turn to balance their business acumen with their generous hearts.
We all seek and desire leaders who are authentic, kind, approachable, sharp, competent, humble, ... . You know, the kind of leader who:
- gets their responsibility of providing the greatest opportunity for each persons success because they know this creates exponential success for the organization.
- invites and creates space for innovation (try something crazy).
- gets the technical side of running a business
- treats people (and themselves) with dignity and respect
- get things done - accomplished, dependable and trustworthy.
Leadership take courage because it requires us to start with ourselves. Lets change the world of business by being the leaders we want to have. Be humble. Be Clear. Have Courage. Be wholehearted. Be sharp minded.
